Wealth Pillar #4 - The Universal Language Of Business
Master This = Build Multi-million dollars businesses On Demand

I’ve been starting and scaling businesses for the past 20 years and have generated over $100 million dollars in revenue.
From my car washing business and alternative investment firm (VIP Motoring) to my online education platforms like Secret Entourage, Exotic Car Hacks, and many more....
While each business has their own unique quirks, there’s one underlying factor that feeds through the blood of every business I’ve ever started.
It’s called the Universal Language Of Business.
These are core principles I’ve developed that have let me to find success in virtually any business I’ve started.
Now even if you’re not ready to start a business yet, this is still critical information you must learn if you want to live your best life.
I always talk about the importance of self-education.
And understanding how business works is key to understanding how the world works and maximizing your full potential.
The Universal Language Of Business is the underlying philosophy that I’ve used to run all my multi-million dollar businesses for the last 20+ years.
I won’t spend this lesson covering every aspect of it, otherwise it’d end up being a 100,000+ word beast.
I will instead focus on the 5 core principles of the Universal Language Of Business that everyone must understand when first starting out.
Principle #1 - Don’t start a business to replace your job

Most people start businesses today for the sole purpose of making money.
But here’s an unpopular opinion…
If your goal is to only make money, you’re probably better off working at a normal job.
For example, let’s say you make $100,000 per year at your job.
Not a bad salary.
But one day you get fired from your job and decide to start a consulting business.
You say, “Oh I just want to make $100,000 per year with my business so it matches my old salary.”
(We’ll ignore the fact that you’ll have to pay more taxes in your business.)
But the point of a business shouldn’t be to simply match your old job’s salary.
Anyone who starts a business should do so with the intention of either:
1. Trying to grow it to the point that it passively pays you back dividends..
Or….
2. Growing your business to the point that you can sell it for a large lump sum so you can start something new or retire.
Your business is an extension of yourself.
So if your only goal is to match your old $100,000/year salary, eventually your business will fizzle out and die.
You can get another job that pays $100,000 per year and you’d likely have less stress and more free time.
Principle #2 - If you don’t understand yourself, then you can’t be successful in business

This is the most real statement you will ever hear.
For example, if you workout every day at the gym and you’re not getting results…then the problem is likely not the gym.
The problem is you.
So you have to go back to square one.
Is your diet in check?
Are you getting enough sleep?
Are you lifting with proper form?
But most people don’t want to ask these hard questions.
They don't want to surrender to their ego.
Instead they only want to do the sexy stuff like show up at the gym.
When you understand yourself and develop a deep sense of self-awareness, you become unstoppable.
Principle #3 - Accept that you are molded by your environment

You are who you are today because of everything you’ve done in the past 10 years.
This goes back to Lesson 1 when I talked about how you do anything is how you do everything.
If you spent the last 10 years letting your family and friends tell you you're a worthless piece of crap...
Then guess what?
You’re going to think you’re a worthless piece of crap.
Which sucks.
But here’s the bright side.
If you spent the last 10 years getting the shit kicked out of you, then you can spend the next 10 years fighting back.
When it comes to your environment…
Either you’re in the environment, and the environment controls you.
Or…
You’re in the environment, and you control the environment.
The choice is yours.
Principle #4 - Figure Out Why You’re In Business In The First Place

My mom :)
When I was 33, I got diagnosed with a cancerous tumor.
I was shocked because I had zero family history of any cancer.
Luckily the doctor was able to remove it and I’ve been cancer-free since.
But it was then that my life flashed before my eyes for the first time ever.
I couldn’t stop thinking to myself:
"What if I died tomorrow?”
"Would I be happy with what I accomplished?”
And the answer was yes.
I was happy with all my accomplishments - the businesses I started, the people I’ve helped, the money I’ve made.
Despite the real possibility of leaving my family and friends, there was nothing else I wish I would have done differently in my 33 years on this planet.
Which is why I always tell people to ask themselves:
“Why am I even in this business in the first place?”
Money is great.
It’s a necessity of life and gives you freedom.
Plus making more money is how you measure the progress of a business.
But if you’re chasing money 24/7 by trying to extract it from people through whatever means necessary….
...That’s where the trouble starts.
That’s where you lose the meaning of life.
That’s when you hear about those ultra-rich, depressed assholes that the media loves to talk about.
Too many people focus on setting money goals instead of goals based around mastering an actual skill.
Saying “I want to have a $10 million dollar net worth by 35” is very different from saying “I want to open a Michelin 3-star Thai restaurant.”
The former is focused around your thirst for wealth.
While the latter is focused on your thirst for excellence.
Ironically accomplishing the latter will also put you on the path to accomplishing the former.
When in doubt, focus on mastery not money.
Principle #5 - It’s All About The P word

Businesses make money because they solve problems.
When I interviewed Tom Bilyeu (founder of $2 billion dollar nutrition company, Quest Nutrition), he said one thing that really stuck with me:
“Problems are solved, not because of the very many, but because of the one.”
For example, let’s say your dad died of lung cancer.
I know, horrible thing to say but it’s just a hypothetical example that has a point, I promise.
If your dad died of lung cancer, your entire world is going to change.
You're going to learn everything you can about lung cancer…
How to cure it…
How to manage it…
How to prevent it...
But if your dad never got diagnosed with lung cancer in the first place, then you probably wouldn’t give a sh!t despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people die from lung cancer each year.
Which is why the #1 secret to building a business empire has nothing to do with new technologies or crazy marketing tactics…
The #1 secret to building a business empire is perspective.
When your entire life gets upended by something like your father getting killed by lung cancer, everything changes.
You now have a perspective into the situation that no one else does.
If someone else wanted to build a product that helped treat lung cancer but they only did it for money, they’d likely fail.
That person doesn’t have the same perspective as you do.
All they see are dollar signs.
But all you see is your father.
So when you start your business, remember, perspective is everything.
In Summary
- In order to be successful in business, you must speak the Universal Language Of Business.
- Don’t start a business to replace your job – a business where you’re just trying to replace your old salary is doomed to fail.
- You must understand yourself and have a high level of self-awareness.
- Whether you want to believe it or not, you are a byproduct of the environment you spend time in.
- Never focus on money. Focus on mastery and the money will come.
- The #1 secret to building a business empire is perspective.
